Yoonmi Lee

Composer,music director,arranger,and pianist, is a 2011 graduate of Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at Tisch, NYU. She wrote the music to the original musical, Missing Parents with Sam Salmond, which had a limited run in August 2012 at Frederick Loewe Theatre, and one act musical, The Spindle with Liana Stillman, Pit-a-pat Korean(2013 commissioned), Chef at Playerís Theatre, presented by 2014 New York West Village Musical Theatre festival, Holy Crab! at BMI (2015), The Unknown Life ,collaborated with American Opera Projects(2016) , and Good Butter at the Prospect Theatre (2016).

NY Off-Broadway credits: Band director for Dear Mr Rosan at 777 Theatre, Pianist/Orchestrator for Worldwide play festival at June Havoc Theatre, NY Theatre Barn, and Peculiar Works Project. Composer for The Chef at the Playerís Theatre, Music director/incidental music for Holy Crab! at Ensemble Studio Theatre.

Music direction (The Holy Crab!, Open For Me, and Days of Rage ).
She's done writer's residences at Goodspeed, CAP21, and the Berkshire Playwright's Lab. She got her bachelorís degree in Jazz composition from Berklee College of Music and associateĎs degrees in Keyboards and Recording Artist Program in Musicianís Institute. Her music's been featured at venues, including at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Joe’s Pub at Public Theatre, The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, American Repertory Theatre (Boston), Nazarian Center (RI), Goodspeed (CT), Berkshire Playwrights Theatre (MA), and Berk Hall (Boston), etc. She won Outstanding Composer at Kookmin University in Seoul, Korea and received an award at Recording Artist Program in Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA.

She works at Columbia University as a guest composer (Fall 2011-present) , and she's a composer at Broadcast Music, INC.(BMI Musical Theatre workshop) and working at NYU, New Studio on Broadway as a field instructor.
